You will then receive a confirmation email with instructions for how to complete your registration. If it is your first time sitting with us, we will require a confidential health history and intake call with our team to discuss your current physical and mental circumstances.
About our Sliding Scale Program:
In order to offer access to all who are called to this experience, we use a sliding scale system for the exchange. We trust you to evaluate your economic situation and determine the most equitable exchange for your circumstances. Some guidelines to consider when choosing your exchange:
Higher exchange (575+) covers all costs, direct and operational, allows for further investment in the church, and subsidizes those without the discretionary income to afford standard tickets. If retreat costs are rarely a concern and discretionary spending is abundant, you may consider offering a higher exchange.
The middle way (450) reflects the true cost of the event. Those with discretionary income generally fall in this range.
The lower cost (375) helps cover the cost of the retreat, but not all expenses. Those with limited discretionary spending may fall in this range.
When the lower tier is an obstacle to attending a ceremony, we will work with folks to offer extended payment plans, work exchange, lower ticket prices, and other solutions. If you need additional assistance please reach out to info@somossanctuary.org or (929) 333-4850 so that we can address your particular situation.
We understand that the lower tier may still pose a financial obstacle for some individuals wishing to attend this meaningful ceremony. In such cases, we are committed to working with participants to offer extended payment plans, opportunities for work exchange, lower ticket prices, and other supportive solutions. If you find yourself in need of additional assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at info@somossanctuary.org or call (929) 333-4850. We are here to address your particular situation and help facilitate your participation in this transformative experience.
***Contributing to our 501(c)(3) organization supports our mission and provides a tax benefit for you. Your donations are tax-deductible, reducing your taxable income and overall tax liability, offering a financial incentive for your generosity.***
Lead Facilitator
Maya Martinez, founder of Somos Sanctuary, was raised in both Colombia and New York City, and has been on a life-long journey studying with indigenous teachers from Colombia, Mexico, the United States, and Brazil, where she was given the name Sakakatwa ‘Rainbow,’ by her family of the Fulniô Tribe. As a dedicated student, she continuously deepens her studies with the sacraments, and has learned many traditional ceremonial practices that help raise the vibration of the planet. It is with great honor, permission, and care, that she shares the weavings of this knowledge with those who are ready to answer the call and receive the wisdom and downloads that come.
Xochi Bucuru is a dedicated Indigenous healer and young elder, deeply rooted in the wisdom of Medicina Ancestral. With a profound connection to the Earth and the traditions of her ancestors, Xochi carries the sacred responsibility of healing through ancestral practices, plant medicine, energy work, and ceremony.
Her journey bridges the ancient and the present, honoring traditional knowledge while guiding individuals toward holistic well-being and spiritual balance. As a guardian of Indigenous wisdom, Xochi facilitates transformative healing experiences, creating sacred spaces for personal and collective growth.
With reverence for her lineage and the teachings passed down through generations, Xochi Bucuru continues to walk the path of healing, sharing medicine that nourishes the body, mind, and spirit.
Accesibility & Inclusion
We are committed to making this work safe and accessible to all people that are called to join, and to maintaining a community culture safe from racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia.
We reserve spaces in our circle for queer BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and offer scholarship to ensure access.
Currently, the space we work in has a flight of stairs to gain entrance and no elevator. It should be noted the burning of dried herbs at different moments throughout the ceremony is expected. Please share with us any access needs you have that would enable you to join us, and we will do anything we can to meet these needs!
Refund Policy:
Somos Sanctuary offers a flexible refund policy that balances participant needs with the sanctuary’s costs. Cancellations made are non-refundable but transferable except for 50% registration fee. Extenuating circumstances may allow for special consideration. Refund requests must be made in writing and will be processed within 7 business days.
