Somos Whidbey Island

We are responding to the call to bring the medicine of our hearts to Willa's childhood territory and community on South Whidbey Island. Join Maya and Willa + Team of Somos Sanctuary for a very special ceremonial weekend communing with sacred medicines, ancient teachings, songs, and prayers, as we open our hearts to cleanse and renew, making space for more love and expansion within our beings. Our special group will unite for 24 hours, for two ceremonies, amongst the trees in the Maxwelton Valley.

About our Retreats:

Our ceremonies are held with pure love. We are trained guardians of these medicines and hold powerful, potent, and safe containers. We hold our ceremonies in sacred silence, carried by live sound frequency, (songs, ikaros, chants and prayers) that have been passed to us through our teachers and trainings with the lineages of these sacred plants and amphibians. 

We invite you to join us for this beautiful and loving Winter prayer, as we support one another on our journeys of healing and expansion through deep inner work. Your presence in our circle means we are meant to weave on this planet, often coming together again and again through lifetimes, to support one another's learning and growth. During this season of Thanksgiving, let us celebrate our remembering, and courageously and vulnerably show up for ourselves in community as we journey through shadow and light to reclaim new versions of ourselves.

About the Hosts ~ Maya and Willa: 

Maya Martinez, founder of Somos Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit plant medicine church, was raised in both Colombia and New York City, and has been on a life-long journey studying with indigenous teachers from Colombia, Mexico, the United States, and Brazil, where she was given the name Sakakatwa ‘Rainbow,’ by her family of the Fulniô Tribe. As a dedicated student, she continuously deepens her studies with the sacraments, and has learned many traditional ceremonial practices that help raise the vibration of the planet. It is with great honor, permission, and care, that she shares the weavings of this knowledge with those who are ready to answer the call and receive the wisdom and downloads that come.

Willa Kveta, founder of Nalaya Healing, is a Ceremonialist and Sacred Photographer who grew up on Whidbey Island attending Waldorf School and deeply connected to the forest. Willa lives in Santa Barbara, CA with her 16 year old twin daughters who she has raised to be wise young beings full of awareness and grace. Through her ceremonial work, Willa embodies the voice of angels with a beautiful humble presence that sees you and loves you unconditionally. Her longtime work with sacred plants and teachers continues to deepen, as she learns and grows in love, alongside her soul partner Maya. Whether as a sacred photographer or sacred guide, Willa's purpose is to be a loving mirror, helping others embody their magic.

Full Retreat ~ Two Ceremonies (SomoS & Toad): $444-$777

***If you cannot afford the full amount, yet you are feeling called, please don't let that stop you from joining us!

Full Retreat Experience Includes:

• One night SomoS Ceremony (Saturday night) 

• Optional Toad Activation (Sunday morning ) 

• Vegetable Soup / lite breakfast / & snacks will be provided. It is recommended to eat gently prior to and throughout the weekend.

• Restful free time in breathtaking natural setting

• Weavings and teachings

• Potluck lunch (Sunday afternoon)

About the Sacraments & Ceremonies

Accommodations/Sleeping Arrangements:

We ask that everyone stay overnight in the Ceremonial Space. Please bring what you will need to be comfortable for sleeping overnight including padding, pillows and sleeping bag/blanket.

Registration:

In order to reserve your spot and receive the potent magic of this medicine weekend, please click “Register” and then select the appropriate sliding scale donation. There is a $222 deposit required, this deposit is non-refundable donation. Once you've completed this process, you will receive a confirmation email with important steps to complete your registration and forms for ceremony. We will require a confidential health history and intake call with a member of our team to discuss your current physical and mental circumstances. You will also receive instructions for paying the balance of your donation.

*Contributing to our 501(c)(3) organization supports our mission and provides a tax benefit for you. Your donations are tax-deductible, reducing your taxable income and overall tax liability, offering a financial incentive for your generosity.

About our Sliding Scale Program:

In order to offer access to all who are called to this experience, we use a sliding scale system for the $ exchange. We trust you to evaluate your economic situation and determine the most equitable exchange for your circumstances. If you are called to share more after the retreat, we gladly accept your donations. When the lower tier is still an obstacle to attending a ceremony, we may be able to offer different solutions such as extended payment plans, work exchange, reduced ticket prices, and other solutions. Special Notes: 

- The ceremonial space has a flight of stairs with a restroom and communal kitchen below. 

- During ceremony, there will be burning of dried herbs at different moments throughout.  

- Please share with us any access needs you have that would enable you to join us, and we will do what we can to meet these needs!
