Dancing in Brazil: The Fulni-o Way

Overview:

Join us for a transformative plant medicine retreat in the heart of Brazil, where we'll be welcomed by the Fulni-ô indigenous community and their ancestral healing traditions. Expect 3 ceremonies including a consecration with Jurehuasca. During this profound journey, you'll participate in ceremonial singing and dancing, connect with loving community members, and experience ancient plant medicine rituals passed down through generations. While deeply rewarding, please note this pilgrimage embraces simpler living conditions than typical retreats, you'll potentially sleep on firm surfaces (thin mats, hammocks, etc.), navigate outdoor conditions with exposure to elements and insects, use rustic outhouses with limited running water rather than modern bathrooms, and witness firsthand the realities of economic hardship in the region, including environmental challenges like pollution. These aspects of the journey are integral to the authentic experience, inviting participants to step outside comfort zones and into deeper connection with indigenous communities. Travel Logistics:

Participants must get to Recife, Brazil before 8 am on July 25 and plan to fly out of Recife after arriving at 7pm on August 1st. All other travel will be provided.

Suggested Sliding Scale Exchange:

$1,222- $2,222

To facilitate access for as many people as possible despite economic challenges, we are implementing a sliding scale system for suggested exchanges. We trust you to evaluate your economic situation, the value of what you will receive, and determine the most equitable exchange for your circumstances. Here are some guidelines to consider:

• Higher exchange ($2,222): Covers all costs, allows further investment in the church, and subsidizes those without discretionary income. If retreat costs are rarely a concern, consider offering a higher exchange.

• Middle way ($1,666): Reflects the true cost of the event. Generally, those with discretionary income fall in this range.

• Lower cost ($1,222): Helps cover retreat costs but not all expenses. Those with limited discretionary spending may fall in this range.

Registration:

To reserve your spot, please click “Register” and select the appropriate sliding scale option, indicating your sleeping accommodation preference. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required. You will receive a confirmation email with instructions for completing your registration, including a confidential health history and intake call with our team, (if this is your first event joining Somos Sanctuary) to discuss your current physical and mental circumstances. Instructions for paying the balance of your pledge and preparation details.

Refund Policy:

Somos Sanctuary offers a flexible refund policy that balances participant needs with the sanctuary’s costs. Cancellations made are non-refundable but transferable except for 50% registration fee. Extenuating circumstances may allow for special consideration. Refund requests must be made in writing and will be processed within 7 business days.
