2025 Spring Equinox Retreat

We are truly honored and filled with excitement to extend a warm invitation to you for our inaugural retreat weekend in the year 2025. This special event will be held in celebration of the Spring Equinox, a time of renewal and balance in nature, and will also serve as a preparation for an incredibly powerful cycle and celebration known as “Pawkar Raymi” Mashak Nina. This event marks the Andean New Year, a significant occasion dedicated to honoring Pacha Mama, the Earth Mother, and the sacred New Fire that symbolizes new beginnings and transformation.

The retreat promises to be a transformative experience, inviting participants to immerse themselves in the rich cultural traditions and spiritual practices associated with this time of year. We will gather in a nurturing environment, surrounded by the beauty of nature, fostering a deep connection to ourselves, each other, and the earth. Through various activities and ceremonies, we aim to honor the cycles of life and the profound energies that the Spring Equinox brings, allowing each participant to reflect, rejuvenate, and set intentions for the year ahead.

  In our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, we are implementing a sliding scale system for suggested exchanges. This approach allows us to accommodate as many participants as possible, acknowledging the diverse economic realities that individuals face. We trust you to assess your financial situation, reflect on the value of the experiences you will receive, and determine the most equitable exchange that aligns with your circumstances. Here are some guidelines to assist you in making your decision:

• Opting for the higher exchange (2,600+) not only covers all costs associated with the retreat, both direct and operational, but also enables us to reinvest in our community and the church. This tier helps subsidize participants who may not have the financial means to afford standard ticket prices. If you find that retreat costs are typically not a concern for you and you have the capacity for discretionary spending, we invite you to consider this higher exchange as a means of support.

• The middle tier (2,100) accurately reflects the true cost of hosting the event. Individuals who generally have discretionary income often find themselves in this range, making it a balanced option for many.

• The lower tier (1,600) contributes to covering some of the retreat expenses, although it may not encompass all costs. This option is designed for those who may have limited discretionary income and need a more affordable choice.

We understand that the lower tier may still pose a financial obstacle for some individuals wishing to attend this meaningful ceremony. In such cases, we are committed to working with participants to offer extended payment plans, opportunities for work exchange, lower ticket prices, and other supportive solutions. Registration:

In order to reserve your spot and receive the potent magic of this medicine weekend, please click “Register” and then select the appropriate sliding scale donation. There is a $150 deposit required, this deposit is non-refundable donation. Once you've completed this process, you will receive a confirmation email with important steps to complete your registration and forms for ceremony. We will require a confidential health history and intake call with a member of our team to discuss your current physical and mental circumstances. Lead Facilitator: Maya Martinez, founder of Somos Sanctuary, was raised in both Colombia and New York City, and has been on a life-long journey studying with indigenous teachers from Colombia, Mexico, the United States, and Brazil, where she was given the name Sakakatwa ‘Rainbow,’ by her family of the Fulniô Tribe. As a dedicated student, she continuously deepens her studies with the sacraments, and has learned many traditional ceremonial practices that help raise the vibration of the planet. It is with great honor, permission, and care, that she shares the weavings of this knowledge with those who are ready to answer the call and receive the wisdom and downloads that come.

Accesibility & InclusionWe are committed to making this work safe and accessible to all people that are called to join, and to maintaining a community culture safe from racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia. We reserve spaces in our circle for queer BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and offer scholarship to ensure access. This space has a flight of stairs to gain entrance and no elevator. Refund Policy:

Somos Sanctuary offers a flexible refund policy that balances participant needs with the sanctuary’s costs. Cancellations made are non-refundable but transferable except for 50% registration fee. Extenuating circumstances may allow for special consideration. Refund requests must be made in writing and will be processed within 7 business days.
